The course provides communication skills education and training for individuals transitioning into the workplace and who are aiming to   enhance their interpersonal relationships with others. The training covers  communication forms, styles and preferences and provides participants with strategies to  enhance their own communication and to increase  understanding and rapport with others.

Course content includes:

  • Communication and why it matters
  • Communication styles, including forms and methods of communication
  • Speaking and listening skills
  • Identifying and understanding communication preferences
  • Non-verbal communication
  • Barriers to effective communication
  • Conflict and diversity

Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand different styles of communication
  • Identify own preferences for communication
  • Improve speaking and listening skills
  • Improve understanding of others, including building rapport and relationships
  • Effectively communicate to others in a clear and engaging manner
  • Understand and manage conflict
