Leaders of Change

Leaders of Change project is an Erasmus plus KA2 Strategic Partnership project promoted by Ad Meritum Foundation from Warsaw (Poland).

It falls within the scope of the "Entrepreneurship 2020 Action Plan", which values entrepreneurship as a career path for the following reasons:

- Investing in entrepreneurship education is one of the highest return investments Europe can make
- People who benefit from entrepreneurial learning, develop business knowledge and essential skills and attitudes including creativity, initiative, tenacity, teamwork, understanding of risk and a sense of responsibility.
- This is the entrepreneurial mind-set that helps entrepreneurs transform ideas into action and also significantly increases employability.
- Entrepreneurship has not been celebrated as a preferred career path. An important element to change the entrepreneurial culture is thus a change in the perception of entrepreneurs through practical and positive communication about the achievements of entrepreneurs, their value to society and the opportunities of new business.
The project is run in partnership with organisations from Poland, Portugal and Slovenia.

The target group for the project will be adults who are looking to find a new job, or to change their current job, as well as micro and small entrepreneurs, who would like to build a successful business.

We are in the process of recruiting people who will be trained to become “Leaders of Change”, in order to bring change within their community and help the target group achieve their goals. Leaders will take part in international training events, where they will have the chance to meet successful entrepreneurs from other countries.

During the project, each partner organisation will have to recruit 7-10 people who will become “Leaders of Change”, which means they will be trained to help the target group achieve their goals.

Leaders will be involved in the following activities throughout the project:

- taking part in international training events/workshops in each one of the partner countries;
- attending meetings with other leaders and successful entrepreneurs in each partner country;
- In between international training events, leaders will meet once every two months (either in person or via internet) to discuss about project developments organise meetings with the target group and become advocates of change within their local community. Their role will be to promote the value of entrepreneurship to the community, emphasise the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills and experiences in education, and highlight entrepreneurship as a career opportunity.
- Develop an idea for further actions in the area, in collaboration with partner organizations.

Leader of change can be anyone who would like to bring change in their community. They don’t necessarily have to be entrepreneurs. The appropriate training will be provided during the international events.

The schedule of international events is written below. In each event, we will need to bring 4 of the leaders recruited for the project.

- 22-26 May 2017 – Sesimbra, Portugal
- 21-25 August 2017 – Warsaw, Poland
- November 2017 – Meeting in London, UK
- March 2018 – Meeting in Warsaw, Poland

The participation in the international events is fully funded by the Erasmus Plus programme and will include travel, accommodation and subsistence.

Local events will also be covered by the grant.
